Outdoor storage of sensitive industrial equipment is a complex challenge in any environment. When the storage location is one of Israel’s most extreme regions—the Dead Sea area—that challenge becomes a true engineering test. Unique environmental conditions, including high salinity, humidity, intense solar radiation, and extreme temperatures, impose demanding requirements on any long-term protection solution.
As part of an industrial operation in the Dead Sea region, a solution was required to ensure long-term protection of sensitive machinery stored outdoors, while maintaining operational accessibility and full safety. To address this need, MAGEN–Teamnet’s engineered protective solution—**was implemented, specifically designed to perform under harsh environmental conditions.
The Dead Sea Environment as an Engineering Challenge
The Dead Sea region is characterized by an unusual combination of environmental factors: salt-saturated air, fluctuating humidity levels, intense UV exposure, extreme summer heat, and sharp temperature variations. For industrial and mechanical equipment, these conditions can accelerate corrosion processes, compromise structural integrity, and rapidly degrade protective enclosures that are not engineered for such exposure.
In this case, the equipment was required to remain available for future use, without loss of functionality and without the need for costly refurbishment or component replacement due to inadequate storage conditions.
Equipment Assessment and Operational Requirements
The first phase of the project involved a detailed engineering assessment of the equipment, including dimensions, weight, lifting points, environmental sensitivity, and future access requirements. In parallel, the actual storage conditions were analyzed—an open site with direct exposure to sunlight and weather, as well as the need for periodic lifting and relocation.
The primary challenge was to provide full environmental protection while preserving safe and efficient access to the equipment, allowing opening, closing, and handling even after prolonged storage periods.
The Solution: A Dedicated Engineered Protective Enclosure
Based on the assessment, a custom MAGEN-based protective enclosure was developed as a standalone, reinforced structure designed for long-term outdoor exposure. The design prioritized structural stability, environmental resistance, and long-term operational usability.
The solution included:
- A reinforced structural enclosure engineered for prolonged outdoor exposure
- Materials resistant to humidity, salinity, and UV radiation
- Secure locking and closure systems enabling controlled access
- Full compatibility with standard lifting and transportation equipment
The system was designed to maintain performance and integrity after years of exposure, without reliance on ongoing maintenance or temporary protective measures.
Field Implementation
Deployment was executed as a controlled logistical operation. The enclosure was delivered to the site, and the equipment was placed inside using dedicated lifting equipment and strict safety procedures. The implementation process was carefully planned to avoid disruption to ongoing site operations and to ensure safe integration into the existing environment.
Once installed, the equipment was positioned in a designated outdoor storage area, fully protected from environmental impact.
Results: Protection, Stability, and Operational Readiness
The implemented solution enabled long-term preservation of the equipment’s condition, significantly reducing the risks associated with environmental degradation. Beyond physical protection, the solution ensured rapid, safe access to the equipment whenever required, without the need to deal with damaged packaging or improvised handling solutions.
This project demonstrates how purpose-built engineering solutions can transform outdoor storage from an operational liability into a controlled, long-term asset.

A Broader Perspective
The deployment at the Dead Sea industrial facilities reflects the core philosophy behind MAGEN–Teamnet’s engineered solution: protection systems developed for real-world conditions, capable of safeguarding sensitive equipment in the most demanding environments. When protection is designed as part of the system rather than a temporary measure, true operational stability is achieved—even under extreme environmental conditions.
