Certifications & Standards

Protective packaging forms an integral part of the system it is designed to protect. Beyond the physical safeguarding of equipment, it must withstand changing and sometimes extreme transportation, storage, and environmental conditions. MAGEN designs and manufactures packaging solutions in accordance with international standards requirements, combining engineering design, material selection, and validation testing that simulates real transportation and operating conditions. This process enables customers to define clear performance requirements and rely on packaging solutions that have been tested according to the required standards.

Our Certifications

IP55

IP55 Standard – Dust & Water Protection

Packaging is required to protect equipment even in field conditions and outdoor storage environments. IP55 protection testing evaluates resistance to dust ingress and water jets from all directions, validating the ability of the outer shell, sealing elements, and closure interfaces to maintain a protected internal storage environment. These requirements are especially relevant for electronic equipment, operational systems, and equipment exposed to loading and unloading in outdoor conditions.

UN

UN Standard – Load, Drop & Vibration Testing

Packaging intended for land, sea, and air transportation is tested for mechanical durability and its ability to protect equipment under real shipping conditions. This includes drop tests from defined heights, load-bearing tests, and vibration tests that simulate the movement of trucks, aircraft, or marine vessels. These tests validate the structural integrity of the packaging and its ability to absorb energy throughout the transportation cycle.

Fire Resistance & Combustion Behavior

In certain applications, resistance to ignition and controlled fire behavior are required. Packaging materials are tested for ignition resistance, flame spread, and thermal response in order to ensure compliance with safety, storage, and transportation requirements for sensitive and electrical equipment.

UV Resistance - Protection Against Sun Exposure

Prolonged exposure to sunlight causes material aging, cracking, and loss of cushioning and damping properties. Packaging solutions are tested under accelerated UV radiation conditions that simulate long-term storage and operation in open outdoor environments and hot climates. These tests validate mechanical stability and the preservation of material properties over time.

Magen combines engineering knowledge, material selection, and controlled testing processes, and provides packaging solutions that are validated for complex working and transportation conditions, while complying with the system requirements and relevant standards.
